Reuters reported that Russian state uranium trader Tenex signed 10 year deal to supply low enriched uranium to South Africa's state power utility Eskom.
Mr Sergei Kiriyenko chief of Rosatom said that deliveries would begin in 2011 and that Russia hoped to eventually get 45% of South Africa's market for low enriched uranium.
The deal was signed after talks in the Kremlin between Mr Jacob Zuma president of South African and his Russian counterpart Mr Dmitry Medvedev.
