Christina Maria Aguilera, was born in December 18, 1980. At quite same time that Britney Spears was selling her Baby One More Time, album, her career was also in the beginning of major success. After a while it started to seem that Christina would loose the competition and vanish from media like had always happened for two people competing in that series before.
But after a while, Christina came back and her career has been successful for over ten years now. It is also a fact nowadays that people don't disappear any more on music business, they always came back one way or another. But before on the 90s usually only other of two people or band stayed and another fade away.
That is something that has changed, maybe Internet has something to do with that (easier to stay in reach for people, and also more need and space for people to fill up).

I don't mean that she would be better than Britney, the point is to bring my point out about her image and style.
