She is beautiful, successful and an astute businesswoman…or was she? While the beautiful part is true, the rest of the information on accused Russian spy Anna Chapman appears to point to a woman involved international espionage and quite possibly, an online poker scheme.
This much is certain about the woman known as Anna Chapman. She was living well as she aligned with New York's high-society crowd and lived in an elegant, $2,100 per month New York apartment. She was becoming well known in the social circles, adding friends and trying to expand several business interests, including an alleged scheme to build an illegal online poker endeavor.
One man listed among her Facebook friends, Alexander Sasha Galitsky, is employed at a Russian capital investment firm. He had several meetings with her, as she searched for funding for several online businesses. Galitsky said, "She tried to raise capital for her online real-estate business. After this, she tried to speak with us about some other initiative like online poker." Online poker businesses are illegal in both Russia and the US.
